Tribal staff shortlisted for Awards

Jim Pateman, our Business Development Director, has been shortlisted within the strategy category of the Management Consultancies Association’s (MCA) prestigious national competition to find the Consultant of the Year 2008. 

Geoff Stead, our Software Director, has been shortlisted within the Special Achievement category of the Handheld Learning Awards.

These nominations are a fitting acknowledgment of their achievements and professionalism, within their respective fields. Good luck to both of them!

Editor’s notes

Jim has worked on policy development and implementation in basic skills at national and local level with many government departments, agencies and providers involved in education and training. He has an unrivalled understanding of the issues involved in Skills for Life (adult literacy, numeracy and ESOL). He has been a teacher, manager, teacher trainer, senior manager in a national development organisation, policy adviser to government; and has represented the UK in Europe, and in OECD and UNESCO programmes.

Geoff has led the thinking and development behind many of Tribal’s major educational software projects; he is a talented and creative software architect and educational thinker.  He is responsible for work ranging from micro-sized mobile phone-based learning resources, to enterprise level, virtual learning colleges. He has been championing Tribal’s use of new and innovative ideas to solve learning challenges for over fifteen years seeking to deliver our mission: to make learning work better, for all.
